(el tercer día / Day Three)
Conciertos, Cartas, y Mercados
Hoy fue un día de descanso. Nos despertamos a las ocho, desayunamos, y uno de los estudiantes fue a misa en la Parroquia. Después, hablamos con nuestros padres por Skype mientras los otros chicos jugaban a las cartas. Almorzamos en Las Musas y comimos arroz con pollo. Más tarde, fuimos al mercado, no para comprar cosas, solamente para ver. Después de ir al mercado, asistimos al concierto de nuestro amigo, Harry Risoleo, en la plaza. Harry fue fantástico, tocó doce composiciones en el violín, y también tocó un bis.
NOTA: Harry fue el único artista que tocó en un homenaje a Ignacio Ramírez Calzada, “El Nigromante,” un intelectual liberal sanmiguelense del siglo XIX. Harry conoció a un pariente del Nigromante, Emilio Arellano, el autor del libro Ignacio Ramírez el Nigromante: Memorias prohibidas. UNAM (la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) grabó el concierto y entrevistó a Harry y a la Sra. Carbonaro en español.
Letters, Concerts, and Markets
Today was a day of resting and relaxation. We woke up at eight, ate breakfast, and one of the students went to mass at the cathedral. Next, we spoke with our parents through Skype while the others played cards. We ate chicken and rice at The Muses restaurant for lunch. Later on, we went to the local market, not to buy things, but only to look. After we went to the market, we attended Harry Risoleo’s concert in the plaza. Harry was fantastic, he played twelve pieces, and also played an encore.
NOTE: Harry was the only artist who played in a concert commemorating Ignacio Ramírez Calzada, “The Necromancer,” a liberal 19th century intellectual who was a native of San Miguel. Harry met a relative of El Nigromante, Emilio Arellano, the author of the book Ignacio Ramírez el Nigromante: Memorias prohibidas. UNAM (the National Autonomous University of Mexico) recorded the concert and interviewed Harry and Mrs. Carbonaro in Spanish.
